Dayton, KY/June 24, 2009—The Mid-American Boating Association is planning to revive the poker rally concept on the Ohio River in Greater Cincinnati after a two-year absence.
The Cincinnati rally is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 24-25 at Manhattan Harbour, formerly Watertown Marina, in Dayton, KY. The 50-mile route contains five checkpoints where poker cards will be given out to each driver with a turnaround down river at Smuggler's Cove across from Belterra Casino.
Organizers are seeking sponsors in the form of vendors to the boating industry or local restaurants and entertainment facilities. Up to 60 boats are expected from here and around the region.
Registration will be held Friday, July 24 from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A mandatory driver meeting is scheduled the next morning at 10. The first wave of boaters will start at 10:45. A lunch break is planned and the last of the boats should return to Dayton by 4:30 p.m. A 6 p.m. banquet is planned where trophies will be given out for first and second place winners.
